 Patient Responsibilities
You, as patients and family members, are responsible for:
- Providing, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete
information about present complaints, past illnesses, hospitalizations,
medications, and other matters relating to your health;
- Reporting perceived risks in your area and unexpected changes in your
condition;
- Asking questions when you do not understand what you have been told
about your care or what you are expected to do;
- Following the care, treatment, and service plan developed with your
doctor and understanding the consequences of failing to follow the
recommended course of treatment or of using other treatments;
- The outcomes if you refuse treatment or fail to follow the doctor's
instructions;
- Following the hospital's rules and regulations;
- Keeping appointments (if you cannot keep an appointment, you should
notify your doctor, hospital or others concerned;
- Respecting the property of others and that of the hospital;
- Fulfilling the financial obliations of care as promptly as possible.
